Bridge Fees
Overview
KAT Bridge charges modest fees to ensure the system can be sustainably operated and maintained over the long term. These fees are designed to:
Cover the manual efforts required during project onboarding.
Support ongoing bridge development, security reviews, and maintenance.
Offset the operational costs of running independent relayers across multiple providers.
Onboarding Fee
Projects that wish to have their tokens supported on the bridge pay a one-time onboarding fee.
This fee covers the manual review, integration work, and governance process needed to safely add a new asset.
Details of the onboarding fee and its structure are published by the K.A.T. Foundation when new projects are considered.
Transaction Fee
Each bridge transaction (deposit or withdrawal) includes a small per-transaction fee, charged in Kaspa (KAS).
This fee is notably less than $1 USD equivalent per transaction.
Fees are collected into a designated address controlled by the K.A.T. Foundation.
Use of Fees
All collected fees are used exclusively to support:
Ongoing development and security audits of the bridge.
Operational costs of maintaining relayers and infrastructure.
Transparency and reporting functions to the community.
Principles
Minimal Impact: Transaction fees are kept as low as possible (sub-USD) to avoid burdening users.
Transparency: All fee structures and addresses will be published in the Transparency, Audits & Disclosures section.
Sustainability: Fees are designed to ensure the bridge remains operational, secure, and well-maintained for years to come.
